Guidelines to remain in place
As the incidents of COVID cases continue to grow in Illinois, we ask all players to continue to adhere to the safety guideline put in place. We have had a successful first half of the season so lets continue to play it safe, social distance and wear your mask when entering the paddle hut. Should we see players not adhering to these guidelines we will cancel all matches and play by men at KLM for 10 days.
According to Bill O’Brien, we have not heard of a single instance among our 1,000+ players of someone contracting COVID while playing the game. Several players have contracted the disease from a family member or some form of outside socialization and they have immediately contacted their club and have taken the proper steps to self-isolate until cured and have done a good job of contacting anyone they might have seen.
So, have fun out there and good luck during the second half of the season.
Guidelines:
- Masks must be worn at all times in the paddle huts. Players are not required to wear masks on the courts. All players should always keep a mask in their paddle bag and comply with mask and social distancing regulations.
- Players may enter the KLM hut only to use the restrooms, replenish their water supplies, procure needed medical supplies or the defibrillator, or to take shelter from lightning and heavy rain. Social distancing in the hut must be maintained at all times. Please limit your amount of time spent in the hut.
- No Socializing after matches without masks. Covid-19 can easily spread among players that socialize without masks within 6 feet of each other for more than a few minutes. We ask you not to hang outside or inside and drink beers before or after your match. Please depart KLM after your match.
